Our Story
HELPING HANDS USA is one of evolution, rooted in a deep-seated commitment to human dignity. Founded in 1997, our organization began by answering the urgent cry of the world's most vulnerable. Our charitable foundation assisted children in difficult life situations.
But a recurring pattern emerged in our work. Time and again, we witnessed that the well-being of a child is inextricably linked to the well-being of their mother or caregiver. We saw that an empowered woman is the most powerful force for change in her children's lives. This was our pivotal turning point.
While our love for children remains the heart of our why, we recognized that supporting women is the most profound and sustainable way to create that change. Today, we are the same passionate team, applying our 25+ years of global, on-the-ground experience to a new, targeted frontier: meeting women at their point of need with the same compassion, resourcefulness, and dedication we have always held. Our focus has expanded, but our core belief remains—by building up women, we build a brighter world for us all.
