1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Helping Hands USA Inc. ("the Organization," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing our website located at hh-usa.org (the "Site"), using our services, making a donation, or volunteering, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you may not access the Site or use our services.

2. Description of Services

Helping Hands USA Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing support, advocacy, and resources to women in the state of Florida. Our services may include, but are not limited to: safety planning, crisis intervention service, long term service, resource referral and financial assistance program.

3. Client-Specific Policies

A. Eligibility & Intake:

  • Services are primarily intended for women who are residents of Florida.

  • Eligibility for specific programs is subject to assessment and the availability of resources.

  • We reserve the right to decline or discontinue services if we are unable to meet an individual's needs safely or effectively, or if a client's behavior violates our safety policies.

B. Confidentiality & Limits:

  • We adhere to a strict confidentiality policy as outlined in our separate Privacy Policy.

  • All client communications are treated as confidential with the following legal and ethical exceptions:

    • Suspected child abuse, elder abuse, or abuse of a vulnerable adult (as required by Florida Statutes §§ 39.201, 415.1034).

    • Imminent risk of serious harm to self or others.

    • A valid court order or subpoena.

  • We participate in the Florida Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) and support its use by eligible clients.

C. No Professional Legal or Medical Advice:

  • Our staff provides advocacy, support, and resource information. We do not provide legal representation, medical advice, or licensed therapeutic services. Any information provided should not be construed as such.

  • We strongly advise clients to seek independent legal counsel or medical professionals for specific advice.

D. Service Hours & Emergency Disclaimer

  • Helping Hands USA Inc. phone hours are Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, please note that we do not offer walk-in services. Every client meeting, consultation, or service delivery requires a pre-scheduled appointment. Appointments can be made by calling during our phone hours or through email communication. info@hh-usa.org

  • We do not operate a live, 24-hour crisis hotline or have on-call staff for immediate emergency response. Communications (phone calls, emails, website contact forms) received outside of our standard hours will be addressed in 5-10 business days.

  • In the event of an emergency, immediate danger, or medical crisis, you should call 911 or your local emergency services immediately.

  • For crisis support outside our hours, we recommend contacting the following 24/7 national or Florida-specific hotlines:

4. Donation Terms

A. General Donations:

  • All donations to Helping Hands USA Inc. are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are a recognized 501(c)(3) organization. EIN: 84-4117763

  • Donations are made voluntarily and are non-refundable.

  • We make every effort to apply donations according to donor designation. If a specified project becomes overfunded or unfeasible, funds will be applied to a similar program area at the discretion of the Board of Directors.

B. Recurring Donations:

  • By authorizing a recurring donation, you consent to having your payment method charged automatically at the interval you selected.

  • You may cancel or modify a recurring donation at any time by contacting us at info@hh-usa.org or call 971 – 509 - 0443. Please allow 5-10 business days for changes to take effect.

C. Gift Acceptance Policy:

  • We reserve the right to refuse any donation that is inconsistent with our mission, comes from a questionable source, or would incur excessive administrative or legal costs.

5. Website Use & Intellectual Property

A. Content Ownership:

  • All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of Helping Hands USA Inc. or its content suppliers and is protected by United States and international copyright laws.

  • You may view and print content for personal, non-commercial use only. Reproduction, distribution, or modification of any content for other purposes without prior written consent is prohibited.

B. Prohibited Activities:

  • You agree not to use the Site to: violate any laws, infringe on any third-party rights, transmit harmful or illegal content, attempt to breach site security, or use any data mining or extraction methods.

C. External Links:

  • The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these external sites.

6. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimer of Warranties

A. Services:

  • Our Services are provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the outcome or results of receiving our support.

  • To the maximum extent permitted by Florida law, Helping Hands USA Inc., its directors, officers, employees, and volunteers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our Services or Site.

B. Website:

  • We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. You use the Site at your own risk.

7. Volunteer & Employment

  • Separate agreements and handbooks govern the relationship with volunteers and employees. These Terms do not create an employment or agency relationship.

8. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

  • These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

  • Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in Broward County, Florida, and you hereby consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in such courts.

9. Amendments

  • We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. The "Last Updated" date will be revised. Your continued use of the Site or Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

10. Severability

  • If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
